Our Story

Who We Are & Why We Do This

Worthy Steps was born from a deep conviction that every Filipino child โ€” regardless of income โ€” deserves access to quality mental health and developmental support.

Our Mission

Making Therapy Accessible for Every Family

Worthy Steps was founded on a simple but powerful belief: therapy should not be a luxury. In a country where the average family cannot afford even one session per week, we set out to change the equation.

We offer sliding-scale fees, community-sponsored therapy packages, free resources, and online access so that geography and income are no longer barriers to healing and growth.

Our programs are grounded in evidence-based practice and delivered with deep respect for Filipino culture, family values, and the unique journeys of every child we serve.

The Origin Story

How Worthy Steps Began

"Every child deserves a place where they feel seen, safe, and celebrated โ€” and we are building it."

Worthy Steps was not born from convenience or opportunity. It was born in a place many parents know too well โ€” uncertainty, exhaustion, and quiet heartbreak.

As a mother raising a child with profound, nonverbal autism, Ruth stepped into a world she was never prepared for. The early days were not filled with answers, but with questions. Not with support, but with silence. Each step forward felt uncertain, and at times, unbearably heavy.

There were moments when the weight of it all felt too much. Giving up felt like the only way to breathe again.

But in that breaking point, something deeper took root.

Through faith, and through a love that refused to give up, she found a calling she could no longer ignore. She learned, adapted, and fought for understanding in a system that often overlooked children like her own. Slowly, what began as survival turned into purpose.

Through the mission of Lifting Christ Ministry, Worthy Steps was born โ€” not just as a service, but as a promise.

A promise that no parent would have to walk this path alone.

A promise that no child would be unseen or misunderstood.

A promise that love, guided by faith and action, can build something lasting.

Today, Worthy Steps exists to create what was once missing โ€” a space where children are supported in their potential, families find understanding, and every small step is honored as something truly worthy.

What We Believe

Our Core Values

Every decision we make is guided by these principles.

๐Ÿ’›
Compassion First

We approach every child and family with warmth, patience, and genuine care โ€” never judgment.

๐ŸŒ
Radical Accessibility

Financial barriers should never prevent a child from thriving. We find ways to make care available to everyone.

๐Ÿ”ฌ
Evidence-Based Practice

Our programs are grounded in proven methodologies โ€” ABA, CBT, and trauma-informed care โ€” always tailored to the individual.

๐Ÿก
Family-Centered

Healing happens in families. We involve parents and caregivers as active partners in every child's progress.

๐ŸŒฑ
Community & Growth

We build a village โ€” connecting families, volunteers, and advocates so no one walks this path alone.

โœŠ
Advocacy

We speak up for the rights of children with disabilities in schools, communities, and policy spaces.
